Educational campus in Rahat

A "green" educational campus which includes kindergartens and schools built according to principles of green building. The school comprises of a number of central spaces. Each cluster of classrooms enjoys a central high-ceiling space admitting natural ventilation and light. The central space offers an exit to an inner courtyard protecting from the sand storms coming from the desert. When the weather allows, students can enjoy the outdoor yard adjacent to each cluster of classrooms. Adjusted to the cardinal directions – to the south, the windows are long and low and sufficiently shaded by the thickness of the wall. To the west – the windows are high and narrow, thus preventing the light entering the space. (Reference to an article about green building). Stage B completed in 2008
